cradle of the estranged songbird
and home to the stories of mankind
Phoebus
A world between worlds, one that exists hidden within the crevices of all dimensions. Its true nature is that of an ever-growing archive, compiling records of all kinds of worlds beyond our comprehension and imagination.
Its people are born from fragments of the countless stars that have made their home in the universe, shards of stars that break the boundary between space and time, and eventually find their new home in Phoebus.
Their role in Phoebus is now to become the next authors of humanity's story. It is their duty that they must venture and retell all manner of sorrow, of joy, of betrayal, of love. But not all are fully equipped to fulfill such a duty.
The fowls of Logos; the songbirds of Elysium. Their origins are as one, but their hearts perceive all stories through different lens.
Fowls of Logos
The Elogians
Unfeeling, impassive, and reserved, they do not feel many emotions beyond their base curiosity. They are serious, diligent, and meticulous, and write all their studies by hand. After their send-off ceremony, it's said they learn how to broaden their emotional depth through mimicking other humans. Mother Phoebus births many Logians, to the point that they make up the majority of Phoebus' population. However, quantity cannot hope to make up for quality.
Passerines of Lagom
The Halflings
Born prickled yet feeling, their hearts rest perfectly between the spectrum of Elysians and Elogians. They are calm and gentle-hearted, with a more subdued demeanor than those of Elysium, but are not free of fervor like those of Logos. Peculiarly, they are more common than Elysians, but do not carry any special habits of their own, with a higher tendency to mimic Elogians most of the time; very few are inclined to make connections with Elysians.
Songbirds of Elysium
The Elysians
Easily moved and high-spirited, they can become easily overwhelmed by the breadth of their emotions. While playful in nature, they are most in sync with human hearts and can keep up with their pace just as well. Rather than pen stories by hand, they prefer to store their recorded tales through scores. It's said that they are able to tell the state a world was in through a single Elysian song. However, they are few in number, so it is difficult to find many scores in Phoebus.
She who yearns for freedom: Elpis
Asta Pallas
Songbird of Elysium. Born from a fragment of Polaris, she is the last Elysian born within the last five hundred years. She greatly looks up to and admires the last Polaris before her, Astrid Nightingale, and strives to live up to the legacy she's left behind. However, she's lead a lonely existence whilst waiting for the day of her send-off ceremony to finally arrive.
The most beloved companion of Hope herself: Charybdis
Evie
An unknown creature that was born from a wish making contact with stardust. Her relationship with Asta is akin to master and familiar, but there is a deeper familiarity between them than that. She is named after the squeaking noise she makes.
She whose wish is to see flowers bloom: Kore
Ayla Galanis
One of the youngest Elders of the Council. Born from a fragment of Sirius B, she is a Halfling with an infatuation of the moon, with a yearning to see the night sky of many worlds. She was Asta's only friend for some time prior to her send-off ceremony, before both were left alone once more. She misses many things from Phoebus, but she misses Asta's company and her singing, most of all.
He who kissed love with sunsoaked lips: Icarus
Delphi Hatzi
One of the youngest Elders of the Council. Born from a fragment of Betelgeuse, he is a Halfling with a wider breadth of emotions than most. He already left Phoebus once, but fell in love then consequently lost the woman he loved to an incurable disease. Wrought with grief, he returned to Phoebus, no longer desiring to see the outside world. He cares for Asta in the same way he's observed other human care for their young, and has happily served as her de-facto guardian for quite some time.

Elysium's beloved Songbird
Asta is a rambunctious girl that shines vibrantly with energy, but lacks the proper knowledge for social etiquette as customary in other worlds, and tends to march through every situation to the beat of her own drum. She is very openly honest and expressive, her whole body reacting as she does, whether it be in confusion, embarrassment, anger, or joy. She is always sincere in her interactions, without any hint of prejudice or arrogance, but can come off as too forgiving and dismissive because of how she side-steps disagreements, preferring to swallow her opinions in order to keep the peace.Despite her... difficult personality on the matter of when will she be allowed to leave, she is dearly beloved by the current set of Elders, as her demeanor is a perfect representation of the spirit of Elysium. However, since the last Elysian was born an exceedingly long time ago, and still has yet to return, current Phoebians struggle to coexist alongside Asta.Regardless of their adoration of her, she is still a troublesome fae with immense disregard for most of their laws.
Magic Style
Asta prefers sticking to support-type magic through buffing the prowess of her comrades, but is capable of attack-type magic as well. However, her defensive-type magic abilities are very poor and lacking in practice. Her specialty lies in reality mapping spells.
This Wish I Make
The power to see the shape of wishes, in all things human and in-human. By entering its memory bubble, she can see what lead to such a wish, or "peek into a reality" in which that kind of wish exists. This is a form of illusive magic (known formally as "reality mapping").
Gift of Song
As a daughter of Elysium, singing is more than just an action, and is a way for her to immerse herself deep within the hearts and stories of mankind. She particularly enjoys combining her style of magic with her scores to create a performance that imprints itself on the minds of everyone that sees it.
Her prior form
Asta can scarcely remember the days when she was just a faerie floating along the starry sea of Phoebus, but has numbered the days since she was given new form as a starling. However, it has taken her almost a decade to receive her human legs.

While Phoebians come from star fragments, “Squishy” is the first of their kind that was born from a moon fragment that mysteriously made its way within this dimension! As such, Asta, and largely by extension the entirety of Phoebus doesn’t know anything about “Squishy” or how he’s structured. Delphi was the first to find him, and he gifted Squishy to her as a friend for when he was to leave. Asta has kept him hidden for a long time since, as she continues to research about him.He makes a unique sound when communicating that only Asta understands, and she named him after the softness of his figure - Squishy. His body looks like it’d be slimy to the touch but it’s actually like super soft rubber. He’s a water elemental being whose form is actually very malleable and isn’t fixed at all. He can only use water magic and defensive spells. Aside from that, he is able to float and fly in the air as well. He’s very smart and can understand many languages, including various animal languages. He also doesn’t require food, water, or sleep as he solely feeds from Asta's mana, but most times he partakes in them anyways just because Asta’s doing it. He’s a very curious being, as Phoebians require a strict connection to Phoebus in order to sidestep human needs but Squishy never required it from the time of his birth. He’s assumed to be near indestructible and incapable of feeling pain since he’s almost quite literally just a sentient blob of water that never dries up.
She who burned too brightly and became scorched: Pandora
The Divine Oracle, Talula
The current Oracle of Phoebus. Born as an Elysian from a fragment of Sirius A, she suffered a series of misfortunes in her travels and lost her ability to sing. As a result, she lost her enthusiasm for humanity, and deteriorated to the state of an Elogian. She seeks for a new Elysian to take her place so that she may finally retire into the sea of stars after centuries of divination, but Talula only has one person in mind, and that person has yet to return to their starry waters.
